"At Larson Acres, we focus on three key principles—quality, pride and family. We take a great deal of pride in the top-quality product we produce for consumers across America. Additionally, our family takes pride in how we care for our animals, how we protect the environment, how we plan for the future, how we treat our employees, and how we give back to our community."

Larson Acres is one of only two farms in the nation to implement an innovative wastewater treatment system is designed to protect the environment.

Wastewater treatment creates "tea water" which provides nutrients to crops.

"When it comes to the environment, our family prides itself in employing best management practices. We're committed to protecting water resources and thus installed a wastewater treatment system. This system helps protect the environment through safer application of manure solids; replacement of most fresh water with recycled water; and optimizing the nutrient content of manure used for fertilizer. We're also committed to protecting soil, so we use a strip-till manure applicator, which does not disturb the topsoil profile during application. This system also increases crop residue, minimizing soil loss and runoff potential."

"The health of our cattle is one of the most important factors we focus on every day. We have gone to great lengths to put measures in place that monitor cattle health and quickly address any concerns. The adult herd is housed in covered freestall barns that provide plenty of shade, fresh air, water and protection from extreme weather conditions. There's ample room for cows to move freely. During sweltering weather, thermostatically controlled fans and timer-controlled sprinklers keep animals cool and comfortable. We provide clean, dry and comfortable sand bedding for our cows. This bedding promotes cow health and encourages cows to lie down—their most comfortable position."
